Post Graduate Certificate in Road Maintenance Engineering & Network Management (Online)
This online part time postgraduate L9 Certificate programme is designed to address civil engineering skills and educational requirements in the road maintenance engineering and transport network management sector. For local authority engineers, it is 80% funded by DTTAS and 20% by employers. It also forms Stage 1 (Semesters 1 & 2) of the Post Grad Diploma and MEng in Road and Transport Engineering.
Programme/Course Structure
The programme combines professional practice elements and outcomes into a technically advanced blended on-line lecture/workshop/project-based programme with learning outcomes that will be relevant to the needs of engineers working within the Irish roads services sector and meet the requirements of a QQI validated award at Level 9 on the NFQ.
The programme has two semesters each with three 5 ECTS modules delivered using live and recorded on-line lectures, virtual learning environment resources and on-site workshops. Assessment is a blend of continuous assessment, project work, and final written exams.
Successful graduates of this programme can transfer into Stage 2 of the on-line Postgraduate Diploma/MEng in Road and Transport Engineering which is designed to meet the needs of Engineers Ireland accreditation for Chartered Engineer.

Note: Each module is 5 ECTS credits. Modules 1, 2 and 3 are grouped in one semester; modules 4, 5 and 6 are in another.
